I like the red one Suislide put and from MDSC pics I do like the first two, where is the rear view (IMO the best of the supraīs design) The other two really donīt like me. I saw many many supraīs that I like, which are far better examples than those you choose. I know why you donīt like SCīs. Totally different tastes. =)
I thought ***** knew better about the Supra. The amazing of this cars is the 2jz-gte that can handle very big amounts of power and abuse.

Even if itīs not easy to get those numbers on a 1uz, you canīt say anything about 1uzīs reliability. Ask Adam Chytra if he modded something in his engine to put 530rwhp by installing a T88? Nothing. Ask Neil Griffiths if he modified ANY of his 1uz to put superchargers or turbos on them. Nope.
Saddly we 1uz owners donīt have all the options or kits ready-to-install as the 2jz, but itīs not because of the engine by itself. Almost all turbo or supercharged 1uz are with stock internals. And thatīs an engine designed to work as N/A.
As for non-drag races, some people change their 2jzīs and put instead 1uzīs because of the better power curve.
I donīt blame 2jz, I know all you can get from them and I love that, but donīt say 1uzīs arenīt reliable.

Think about this: How many forums can talk about putting more than 400whp on stock engines? Lol. We must be all very proud.
Even thoe I think that this thread should be Supra N/A or SC300. Both similar engines and not too different prices (or yes? I donīt live there)

The 1st generation SC's are IMHO one of the most beautiful cars ever made. The edgeless design that was sculpted from clay was groundbreaking and gorgeous. They offer a decent amount of power, rear wheel drive and a quiet luxurious ride to go along with their looks. To get all of these things in a vehicle that is priced under 100k is rare.
If you just want a fast car, then you have plenty of options, and the Supra should be high on the list, but the SC has it all wrapped in a pretty package.

Ill agree that both both cars have a timeless design and are built for different purposes. Believe it or not the SC out performs the N/A SUPRA in the 1/4 mile but not in handling. The Supra screams "race me" while SC is a fat sleeper when turbo'd

if I put two turbos on my 1uz and and all the fixings im sure it could produce just as much power or more.
correct me if im wrong but the only reason people dont boost the 1uz as much as the 1j-2j series engines is due to lack of space in the engine compartment.
I would love to see a fully modded 1uz and see what it could do.
I dont see any reason as to why it cant produce as much or more power than the 2jz.

Yes we all know they can be boosted to produce lots of power-----but so could the sc

Fixings...lol, go get your fixings and see if you can produce the same amount of power as 2jz...lol. IT has been done to 1uz/3uz, they arent as strong of an engine when you boost it. The internals of 1uz are not forged, neither are the pistons the rods are tiny. 1uz was made to produce power n/a, while 2jz was made to produce power with boost. The cost of the parts for 1uz are outragous, cams, rods, pistons are all aftermarket parts that are made to special order$$ and at the end of the day you still cannot make that power. Thats why people build 2jz tube chassis cars and not 1uz, the uz is a very reliable engine and thats about it unfortenatly, to some people thats good enough.
this is because the 1uz doesnt allow alot of room for boosting so less attention has been put into aftermarket parts for it.
the 1jz and 2jz on the other hand offer more space
you are incorrect in saying the rods in the 1uz are tiny------the early model 1uz's had oversized rods---perfect for boosting and supercharging.
the later 1uz 98-00 had smaller rods that dont look like they hold up well to heavy boosting.
i dont know anything about the 3uz to comment on
Im starting to think you just like to argue-----there is not much to put down about the 1uz at all
maybe you can try to find something more to back up your argument cause u didnt offer much this time around

Tell this nonsense to the people at Lextreme, and the Australians. Every person and their dog has built up a 2JZ... It takes a real man to build a 1UZ.

well i agree with you on the fact that the aftermarket parts are much higher in price--
this is because the 1uz doesnt allow alot of room for boosting so less attention has been put into aftermarket parts for it.
the 1jz and 2jz on the other hand offer more space
you are incorrect in saying the rods in the 1uz are tiny------the early model 1uz's had oversized rods---perfect for boosting and supercharging.
the later 1uz 98-00 had smaller rods that dont look like they hold up well to heavy boosting.
i dont know anything about the 3uz to comment on
Im starting to think you just like to argue-----there is not much to put down about the 1uz at all
maybe you can try to find something more to back up your argument cause u didnt offer much this time around

Problem is you dont know anything youre arguing with me about, 1uz is a decent reliable engine lets just leave it at that, but please dont compare it to one of the strongest engines ever created from the factory. DO you know anything about block thickness and crank walk?
