Are you the real man? dude youre my hero for spending 3X the amount of money that i will to make 450rwhp on 1uz You know its also hard to make power in a pinto, if build one to make 450rwhp does that mean i'm more of a man then Lextreme and ausies? People are buying sc400 and GS400s and when they really want to go fast they rip 1uz/3uz out and do either a 2JZ or Ls1. You think its more simple to swap a 2jz/ls1 in one of these cars then boost a 1uz/3uz engine? I own a Gs400 as well, its a lightly moded everyday nice car with 300+hp if i wanted 400 hp i would most likely have to turbo or supercharge it. It has been well recorded these engines dont like 400+rwhp for a long period of time...not to mention it cost $4.000+ for any decent supercharger/turbo kit.
Why do it the hard way when you can make power the easy way. I will leave it at this i'm done arguing with people that have never build a fast car in their life arguing about something they have no clue about.

So you are a good mechanic...
Everyone that can distinguise between a wrench and a screwdriver can make powerful 2jz´s. That´s because of the big aftermarket things you can get. Of course it takes way too more money to get some power from the 1uz, everything must be custom, custom jobs are expensive and are a trial and error adventure. The 1uz is not by far a weak engine. If you don´t have the money or guts to make power on this, you shouldn´t talk ***** about it.
Stock gte´s can take about 800-850rwhp, but some years ago that number was around 450. At that time people were having m90´s on 1uz to make hardly more than 250-270rwhp, now they are around 540rwhp with turbo´s. I think that by the poor aftermarket the 1uz have, that´s a very good amount of power, which BTW is delivered more linear than in a 2jz.
Another thing that isn´t cost-effective is that 1uz´s came with auto´s and with more than 400hp trans are near its limits, and there´s going money on that too.
So, is not a bad engine, of course is not as good as a 2jz to receive boost, DOH! A naturally aspirated engine with 10,5:1 against a turbo engine with 8,5:1 compression. Do the maths.

wow...supra? i dont think so.ill say sc300(superclean). sc300 is more roomy and has way more luxury. and lets face it. i can do a 2j-gte swap, single turbo and have best of both worlds and did not have to cough up supra market money...that is why sc300 wins, however for all the economist the supra market value/resell value is untouchable. so for all the sc300 hundreds that are 500+ hp a stck supra is still worth tripple the value. not fair.......lol

Supra. I've always liked the supra. They don't look that aggressive to me but every time i see the front of one, it looks like they are happy and smiling.. which makes me happy lol. But sc is a really good car too. I'm the type of person that would like to have both in my garage.

i'd pick the supra so i can swap it all over into an sc chassis. it should be chassis vs. chassis. cause my dream sc would be 97 black on black 5 speed swapped out drive train with a supra tt and 6 speed with the stock supra 17" rims with lexus badges, full supra front/ rear brake setup, and suspension. the only thing i hate about the sc or would change is the gas tank location and stereo console the integrated volume control sucks. stock for stock supra TT 6 speed non vvti black on black. but it should be chassis vs chassis to be fair.

why do supras cost so much anyway? the only reason i can think of is the street legal 2JZGTE engine... i know people dont buy em to fix up the exterior with body kits on them cause all body kits on the supra look like rice except for the TRD widebody
sorry supra, as much as i heart thee, USDM supras are just not worth the price.
