I wouldn't say the market is dead for the SC...at least out here in WA, the SC is starting to get more and more popular. There are quite a few people, including me, that've switched over from Nissans to the SC.

yea i know theres a DiY for the lip but he fails to answer the questions on how he got the lip to fit with the nice shape on the sides. So w.e. i just hope Raceonusa makes it so that i could just buy it .... wiSh they had that "Easy" Button for something like this..

- First, Kudos to RaceOnUSA/Karmotion for even coming out with any products for the SC, as demand is not generally high for parts. Even more to them for being made of CF.
- To make them out of CF and copy the Big Win Lip, and cost much lower? This is not possible. CF is very expensive to produce, and the raw materials are also very expensive. I own the Big Win Lip. I bought it during the Group Buy that Carson ran on it a long time ago. The Lip cost me somewhere in the neighborhood of $350 - $380 plus shipping, if I remember correctly. From what I can tell, the lip is made of FRP, which is basically fiberglass. This is significantly cheaper material than CF. It is highly unlikely that this can be made for less than the Big Win Lip.
- If you want CF parts, especially quality ones, expect to pay a premium price for them. They are never cheap.
- Remember, you are not modding a Honda here. Prices will always be much more expensive than aftermarket Honda parts. Plus, Civics and Accords are everywhere. Many, many more were produced and sold than the SC. Aftermarket parts abound for them. Both cheap and quality parts.
- Most of you stepped into a Lexus because you liked the car, and you felt you were stepping up. You did. I believe the SC came out with a MSRP of over $40k in 92. What was Civic or an Accord in 92?

well put ryan... Ill add to that, I made my carbon fiber lip. It consists of 4 layers of 2x2 twill weave carbon and 1132 series resin with UV resistant agent added. Then I used vacuum infusion to make it.
Run down on cost:
carbon (4 sq/yrds) raw fabric $300
resin/hardener (14 oz) $10
vacuum bag materials $200
mold for part (all materials) $250
total: about $760 not including my time to build the mold by hand and all the fitting and finishing work. I think this lip is a great deal for a mass produced part especially since the sc is two years away from having replacement part production drastically cut down. I've made many carbon pieces for my cars and even some for friends exotics and let me tell you... from the pics the quality of the lip looks to be on par with most of the carbon pieces you can get for lambos and ferraris.
good stuff raceon
