I sanded them before the first coat and lightly wet sanded between coats. Topped it off with 2 coats of clear. Its been a while so i'm not sure what grit i used. I had used this method to redo the headlights on my Acura using just clear and it worked great. The tail lights looked good for abt 5 months and now they've lost some of their gloss and one of them got a gash from a shopping cart. i'd really like to buy some 97+ and smoke them but i wanna perfect my technique on these before i try that. The other problem with this is that the paint is very thin so its hard to get a nice even coat with no runs and its extremely difficult to match the tail lights.

Thanks. I had to paint my badges. Did them a few weeks ago.

they should fit, see if they are local and do a mock up on it just in case.... and shame on you guys he was just asking if they would fit, not your opinions on doing it.... all i can say is if you like it do it. who cares what other people think its your car .

Thanks for the replys. And no im not a ricer haha. Just like the round lights and my lex is black so it think it would look nice with the black lights.

I read that the taillights and some other things were redesigned for 98 and up so thats why im not sure if they will fit. Most of you said they "should" fit but have any of you tried it on a 98 and up? They are not that cheap and I didnt see them localy. I have to order them online so I'd like to know for sure if they will fit before I order.

Any help will be apreciated.

The tails will "fit", it's the light bulb placement that was different in the 97+, so you may have to play around with your harness bulb placement.

the tails will fit but the harness WILL NOT WORK, although you can search the forum. I think there's a thread that modifies your harness to fit.

Or you can just get a 97- harness from aliga, they're dirt cheap
