I've been trying to get production numbers based on colors for the 1997 SC300. I contacted LExus HQ and this is what I got. Interesting because most publications say 120 were produced.

We can advise the MY (model year) extracted sales for the 1997 SC 300 5-speed manual vehicles sold were 137. The system would not breakdown the color specifics. This is due in part to the number of years which have passed since the time of production. We do apologize we cannot provide you the specific breakdown.

I wouldn't trust that. My '95 SC300 is an automatic, yet Lexus Owner's Circle lists it as a 5-speed.

maybe, before you bought your car, someone had your car in 5spd and converted it to auto since they didn't know how to drive stick, then sold it to you since they didn't like how fast it was......

yeah, i registered my 5spd through Lexus Owners and it said mine was an auto... so no idea if they're accurate or not, especially I've tried vins of other 5spds and they came out auto...
