door mouldings

When you install the 97+ side skirts on a pre 97 sc400, can you just keep your stock middle door mouldings on, instead of buying 97+ ones?

Yes you can keep your stock door molding however there will be a noticeable gap between the door and the sideskirt. Some people like it. For the most part it's a big no no.
