I say try to get more out of them. If your car KBBs for $11,000 then why are they giving you about $2k less? There is no reason for that, maybe get your insurance involved since they can usually get more for you.

i'd take the $7,000 and part out the car, you'll end up with more than $8,800

That's painful to see, especially on a 97+. Sorry for your loss. I would have to agree with the last few posters and say take the $7000 to fix it.

Best of luck whatever you end up deciding upon.

i'm sorry to see that happen to you. i don't understand, is there something else bad with your car being a salvage title besides the fact that it might look sketchy to a potential buyer if you try to sell it?

Well, I've decided to hold on to the car and take the $7,000. The claims adjuster said the estimated cost of repairs was about $5,400, but there was no frame damage, and it's all body work. I think $5,400 is a lot, but I guess if you add the costs of labor on to parts and then repaint the car it adds up pretty quick.

I hope to one day return the car to it's former glory.

Is this the end?-mycar.jpg

In the meantime, buying a new car... Will post pics when I have title in hand.

i feel your pain i was hit by a jeep... my repairs totaled to 6400 my cars valued at 14k and i decided to keep it repairs ended up costs 7k plus after hidden damage my frame was also fine all i needed was body work...cut and weld is a bit pricy. Some advice take it to a shop you know well that will not joy ride your car and fix it right... i took mine to certified toyota and they did VERY poor quality work just shows that looks can be deceiving. Gl with repairs and keep us posted
