Question OEM Lip Installation

Im about to buy an OEM 1992 sc4 lip, but the guy doesn't have any of the aluminum brackets nor the screws. Can I still install the lip without the brackets, also what difference does it make to have the aluminum brackets? If I do need the brackets, how easy it is to get a hold of some, and how much do they run for? Let me know guys, I'm planning on picking it up this weekend.

this is no new topic here on CL, there are many many many ... many threads on this and all you have to do is use the search button. This is probably why you have not received a reply until now as many more will tell you the same. But since I'm not like most, I will give you my two cents . . . go to your local metal shop and get them to cut you some 3/4" width aluminum. I don't remember the thickness I used but it should be relatively flexible (if not your not going to be able to shape it easily around the inside fascia). Get some bolts with washers (I used carriage bolts). Then just drill holes in the alum strips u got cut along with the holes in the fascia and lip. Bolt on. Done deal. Here are some pics of my project after doing bodywork, its not pretty, but who's going to see it? Plus, its way more durable than before! Here's before...

The brackets are rare by themselves as most folks require them to install the lip. The dealer still does sell them but they have to be ordered and are not cheap. I assume this is for a 400 but on a 300 I am not sure if some of the holes are there since it wasnt standard on the car.

There are a total of i think like 6 brackets from the manufacturer. I sold my old lip to AliSC3 without the brackets and it went onto an SC300 so it can be done. He might be able to lend some direction or suggestions.

Good Luck
