I wouldnt but it. Way too risky like everyone else said. I mean sure it would be okay is all the maintenance was done but come on what are the odds of that happening. Maybe is the car was a manuel that might have happened but not on an automatic.

I wouldn't even buy it. 300K is 300K all around. From the seats, to the hood, to all the little screws and bolts that come undone and rattle at such a high mileage. Save your money and keep looking!
I personally would not buy any car with that amount of miles unless I was 15yrs old(age i bought my first car--a 1970 datsun 510 w/120K miles) and it would have to be lexus. it shows lexus's reliability that you would consider it. At 300K miles the fresh paint MIGHT not be a red flag as any car with that amount of miles would need a paint job. He also could be covering something up as the paint job wouldn't cover the sale price.

Toyota's will run forever as long as it been taken care of. Ever hear of the 1,000,000 mile club? Soon to be a member.

with that. offer 1500 if the interior is clean. 1000 if not.
this is the first i've heard of this club. are you serious about getting near that mark?!?!?!? it seems impossible given the years of the car.

Ghetto hooptie. First thing anyone does with a rusty old bucket if they wanna sell it is slap a $100 macco paint job on it and get rid of it.

1UZ usually last a long time if its well taken care of. but like what everybody said, try to see if you can bring it to a shop to have it fully inspect, compression check the motor, suspension play, and all the other stuff.

I'd pay what a dealership would give for a trade in...$500.
