Default 97+ side skirts easy to install

just wanted to let anyone know whos planning on installing the 97+ side skirts on there pre 97 sc, its very easy to do, all you need is the clips and everything else is very easy...and also the car looks real good without the 97 side mouldings. Ya the side mouldings make it look a little cleaner but it looks real good without them, and for $200 a side its not worth it at all. The gap isnt even that noticeable, so anybody whos getting ready to add these sides its very easy to do and dont worry about the side moudlings

You know, I actually have the '97 sideskirts on a '95 SC300 myself, And for some reason, I think it looks like homosexual *** without the door moldings...yeah, They may be around $200 plus per side, But at least they already come paint to match from the factory.

The 97 moldings are about $130/side if you know where to look.

That price quote of $200+ plus was actually from the Lexus of Cerritos "stealership" I know for a fact that Lexus of Westminster probably has a lower price than they do...But I don't buy from them either...I actually buy my Lexus parts from some hole in the wall place down in Santa Ana...And they sell used Lexus parts too.

why? the door molding were made for a purpose...think of it as ordering a Tequila Sunrise without the Tequila...if your gonna do it, do it right and complete

it's more of a design purpose. i don't see any function for it. what it does is just extend the door down to meet the skirts flush and get rid of that gap. if you can live with the gap, you're fine. if you want it perfect, get them.

You couldn't be more correct. Any body kit without lower door mouldings is *** monkey.

a little off topic, but wtf is *** monkey?!

I tend to be cheap somtimes, but on overall styling for the SC's exterior, I have to stress not to be cheap...let all your 97+ conversion parts sit till you have everything..

Lexus=Class/Style
SC X00=Performance
Gap where door moldings should be=FAIL

if your gonna do it, please do it all the way

LOL...homosexual ***? damn i didnt know you were that into ur side skirts that it was that serious. ya it does look good with the door mouldings but it still looks good without them and if you really think it makes that BIG of a difference then you need a hug. Im not going for the 97+ look like the majority of people on this forum. I just needed some clean looking side skirts but if you notice everybody on here has the same looking car except a few amount of people who are smart and dont be like everybody else. There is barely any difference in looks without the 97+ mouldings

Can you guys post a pic of the difference? I'm looking at pictures on google and can't make out what the molding is supposed to be. I only notice the side skirt.
