I dont think Birds eye maple is it
Being the scientific man i am, i usually just Grunt and throw stuff around, BUT im in a constructive mood today, so i took some visual aids
Stock wood grain (unknown)
Birds eye maple:
now i am no wood master, but the birds eye looks to light

I am pretty sure it is a maple veneer but not sure its "birds eye", least not on mine maybe the newer ones but think that may be for the Sc430's. Heres a sample of birds eye see if it matches what you have.

Wow not even close...I know it matters where it was cut from on the tree.
Ur sample above has very heavy graining unlike maple I have seen but your interior wood looks exactly like mine or pretty close. Crazy
