6500k proj and halogen fogs.

Tell me guys, as I'm a HID newb. Does just the bulb dictate the color, or do you have to change ballasts too when changing ratings? I currently have 8000k and want to go down into the 5000k range.

The bulb decides the color, not the ballast.

For the low beams we use 9006, right? How about fogs? Thanks in advance!

Not sure if you guys know but the higher you go in color temperature, the worse you'll be able to light up the road. Optimal is 4300K. The K rating is inversely proportional to the light output, therefore the lower the K the brighter the light output.

I'd say 4300k or 5000k. I'm running 5000k right now. I'll try to get you some pics when I get the chance.

As a result of this thread, I'm changing my 8000k bulbs to 5000k. Anyone have good sources for bulbs?

EDIT: Switched to 5000k, way better looking. Installed some Halogen 5000k Hyper Yellow H3's in my fogs at the same time, looks like a classic late '90's Lexus now.
