Ouch, that sucks. Living in CA is the worst for modifying. I'm sick of getting pulled over too so I try to avoid the illegal mods now. It's just not worth it.

it does come in handier though when you need to sell parts; lots of modified cars out here for most popular models
regardless; i've learned my lesson with 'illegal' mods. if a cop can pull you over for a mod, then they'll do so. ( i'm talking mostly about tinted front windows and front license plate; I've never been a fan of blackedout tails).
dam dude that sucks... but im still painting my car black when i get the money, and blacking out the tailights, maybe the headlights too... AZ cops aren't that bad! ive only been pulled over a couple times and it wasnt for tint, even though mine is dark as ****... how much you want for those tailights?? :P

wtf, why would you want to follow this guy's footsteps? Sometimes I just don't get it, you know you're gonna run into the same trouble why risk it? It's a no brainer and the outcomes are known to be negative but people still take that road...
I'm going to be smoking mine, just not as much. I will be getting some really bright LEDs so they shine through a lot better, that way I don't need to worry about people saying they can't see my ****.

asked the cop about that - he said the law isn't with visibility, but with the fact that the car has to;
1.) have a red reflector
2.) the light has to be visible from 200 feet away in broad daylight.
