I have a kirkland signature (costco) brand battery in mine and its worked fine for the two years I've had the car, and who knows how long before.

Sometimes when you run a battery dead they will be ruined beyond the point of coming back (running a starting battery totally dead is very bad for it).

Your battery is shot. The bad battery is pissing off your alarm (all aftermarket alarms do not like low voltage).

Get a new battery and problem solved (you should also clean your terminals at this time).

The optima is a gel cell, not dry cell battery. They used to be very good but have been bought out several times and I believe are over hyped now. I'm not sure anyone makes really good battery these days that doesn't cost a fortune.
