Default How much my car could sell for

I hate these types of posts..

I need some help determining a fair asking price for my SC. I think it's time to cut my losses and let this great car go.

1995 Sc300 5 speed, in Teal Mist
150k miles VERY well maintained.

this car has had 3 timing belt replacements, and it runs flawlessly!!

The suspension A-arms are all tight, the rack and power steering isn't leaking. The tranny doesn't grind. There simply are no issues with the car. It was that well maintained.

The paint is not perfect, and has some blemishes. It has a slight rust spot above the front window like alot of them do. The car still look's amazing.

1st timing belt during the 85k major maintenance

another timing belt at 100k when the water pump was changed

another timing belt at 130k

The clutch was replaced as well at 130k

The A/C was just drained and refilled and blows hard

Everything work's, and I mean everything. Still has remote key AND valet keys, owner manuals and comes with Factory Service Manuals

Sunroof works perfectly!

Factory stereo and cassette works perfectly!

Gauge needles all work, but have very very minimal flickering sometimes

12 disc changer works

Windows work perfectly

antennae works

Headlights are flawlessly clear

hvac and stereo displays are perfect

I recently steam cleaned the interior carpet and took the front seats out to clean under them. It does have a slight smoke smell from the 1st owner.

The leather in this car is AMAZING. You will not have to worry about recovering the seats. There's a couple little spot on the drivers door at the bottom and a new scratch in the passenger front seat.

_____MODS______

SC400 front lip
18x8.5" front Sportmax wheels shod w/Yokohama runflat AVS 40% left
18x9.5 rear wheels shod w/Yokohama AVS 20% left
Magnaflow dual mufflers
Shortshifter not installed
Supra twin turbo front brake conversion completed
Supra twin turbo shocks/struts/springs/top hats ready to install

no the car doesn't get parted out...not an option. If I can find a way to keep it, I will.

Thanks,

I sold my Sandstone 92 5spd for $5500 and it was it much worse shape overall, so hopefully I could get a lot more than that.

I was thinking $7500-7800

I have around $8500 in it give or take.

The reason these threads don't work is because the same car I'd buy in Cali for $5k I'd only pay $3.5k for in Philly.

That's true. I guess it's a matter of catching the right person looking.

I guess I'll try the time tested Autotrader.

Thanks

I hate these threads because CL is full of lowballers and deal hunters, not your general buying public. Find an average asking price for your area and go from there. Good luck!

The mainstream is looking for late model compact cars, Ive been advertising mine locally with a for sale sign and on auto trader for a fair price, and have been astounded at the lack of interest. On my info. sheet in the dash I mention the orig. MSRP was $53,000.00. Good tactic but seems uneffective. Start at what you think is a fair price and if it dosent sell then plan B. My plan B is parked in my garage.

Sorry man nothing is selling right now...everyone is banking the coin until the credit dam is broken. Unless your putting a ridiculous lowball price on there the nibbles wont happen especially on a 15y/o car with 150k no matter how nice it is.

Good luck

you should know that you can never really get anything from the mods you have done to the car. point is the car is old and for you to sell it for that much might be a little hard specially when the economy is already hurting as it is. Good luck! you get more for the car depending on where you live.
