My bad, i meant to say get the 98-00 instead of the 97. 97 still had 4spd auto.

so the 98-00' sc300's have the vvti 2jzge that has 290 hp?

No, the 98+SC400 VVTi has 290hp. The SC300 VVTi has 225hp. My butt dyno can certainly feel the difference

So the addition of VVTi and a 5 speed trans are negligeable? That's the biggest change the SC400 ever got in it's production.
