You can do better. I sold my '97 SC400 with 200k miles for not much more than that

well thats good to hear, i dont want the tranny or anything major to go out on me because its a pain in butt. Honestly i havent done much of research on the Sc thats why i joined the forum to learn more. But on your guys opinon what do you think about this sc im planning on getting? its a 92 he replace the engine with 35k and replace tranny about a month everything runs good from what he said, i gotta go check it out tomorrow. Do you guys think i should get a better year than a 92? I'm looking for a project car with a little bit more torque. $2700 what hes gonna let it go for.

Make 100% sure that the trans and engine are fresh. Get some reciepts showing that someone qualified performed the engine swap. Also check all the fluids especially the transmission fluid for proper amounts and color. For a fresh engine sounds kinda cheap. Also body is kinda old so a rebuilt or modified suspension isn't a bad idea. i would get the VIN number and run it through carfax to check for accidents. Good luck!

Yeah check up on who did it and where it came from. All the motors are very reliable, you just got to make sure it was put in correctly and was good from the start. However look online some too, you can possibly find a better deal.

you can tell a lot from the body condition on how he took care of the care. But if the motor and trans are fresh and he can prove it, then definitely its worth the price. good luck

You should consider save up little more and get a 98SC400. More HP, better looking and newer. I have seen they are around 7K.
