Of course, but while KBB/NADA/Edmunds gauge the market, they aren't perfect, and they don't handle some types of cars well. For example, NADA gives it a clean retail value of around 7000. But what is "clean?" The top 25% of all used vehicles that age? What if it's in the top 1%? Is there no additional value to the car for that? What about $$2-$3k in tires and rims? Then what about a salvage title? As for the post you quoted, that was my response to a previous poster who acted like he knew a lot, then provided me with absolutely no helpful information.
C'mon guys, if you have useful input, then please chime in. I am very unimpressed by my first few weeks on the Lexus boards, frankly, as a result of an overall antagonistic community spirit and a lack of maturity. I don't need chest-thumpers, I just need reasonable conversation and good info. Those GM owners blow you guys out of the water.
