Gas light question
When is the gas light supposed to turn on? The line on my gas tank gauge was on the very last line and even dipped below it at times but my gas light never went on? Is my light not working?

I posted something like this along time ago. It seems that the gas light comes on when it IS below the E mark. Mine has only come on twice since i have owned the car, but I rrely let the tank get too low. U might just want to do what i did and drive w/ the ECT button on the whole time, and if u have a full tank, the light should come on around 260-270 miles after filling up. Just drive around w/ A/C and ECT ON, and u will eventually get that lil orange square to light up. It's working, trust me.....U just haven't pushed ur tank to the limit yet

i think something might be wrong w/ ur gas light. mine comes on way before i ever come close to running out of gas. I believe i have somewhere b/w 5 and 4 gallons when the light turns on and i can usually ride a day w/ it on before i have to fill it. normally i clock my tank on the odometer and the light comes on and off at around 300 miles and i can usually get 380+ miles on a full tank. If u have a sc3 then it'll be a little more cause i have the baby 8 gas killer.

R u serious? The farthest i have taken my SC3 is 270 miles on a full tank before i filled up again. What r ur driving cond. like? Do u drive at like 70mph on the interstate most of the time, etc.? Also, do u drive w/ the ECT switch ON? I am amazed that u get 300 miles. Please respond, as I would like to be getting that type of mileage (I will not be having my parents pay for gas much longer)

It is very difficult (time consuming) to take the fuel pump out from the tank to change the filter if it ever get clogged. If you keep having the tank goes low, all the debris, contamination will be stuck in the filter and you will need to change the pump and the filter.
Both of my SC400 gas gauges are at half full when the car is driven about 150 miles.
Our SC has 20 gallon gas tank. About 2 gallon reserved.
If you keep driving with the ECT switch on and a lot of local driving (stop and go) the gas mileage is going to be around 15-17 mpg. You should start paying for gas on your own then you'll take the ECT off and your right foot will not be made of lead anymore
On mostly highway ~75-80 mph my SC400 got to about 25 mpg. That's over 400 miles to one gas tank. Driving daily to work I got about 19-20 mpg. I would assume the SC300 has better gas mileage.

Yeah 380 seems about right for my car too
I have run my car until the gas light comes on; and i'll get like 18gallons in the car... so prolly around 30-35 miles left for me when the light comes on

360-380 for me, but the light usually does not come on, or just start to come on, depending on city/highway driving.
Our tanks are 20 gallons (could be 20.4, but at least 20). I have personally put in over 19 gallons in one fillup.
I avaerage 24 city 26-28 highway. I've pushed 30 once on a long trip.

I want to guess and say the light comes on at 3 gal reserve. But have no proof.

I get around 250-280 per tank, but I fill up around a quarter of a tank or sometimes a little less. I have NOT changed plugs (changed at 60k) or wires, timing belt (60k), water pump (60k), or the cats. I have changed the fuel filter, run a K&N, Mobil 1, and always run a bottle of Chevron Techron once a month, sometimes twice. I do mostly city driving, with a 15 mile sprint around 5-6 times a week. Racing everything from minivans (those Dodge Caravans are quick with a pissed off momma behind the wheel) to 4x4s does not help.
