Default Replace lowbeam bulbs

Hi,

I am new to club lexus, and I used both the search and advanced search functions, but could not find exactly what I need. I drive a '92 SC300.

I want to replace my lowbeam bulb (front, driver's side), but I don't want to follow the advice of the manual and take it into a dealer. Can anyone give me the "dummy" version of how to replace my lowbeam bulb? Thanks for your help!

The lowbeam bulb is a 9006 bulb. All you have to do is simply twist it about 45 degrees and than pull it out. If you look directly on the back of the headlight you will see where to access the bulbs. The inner most one is going to be for the high beams and the outermost one is going to be your low beam.

REMEMBER not to touch the new bulb while putting it in. The oil from your finger can heat up on the glass and destroy your new bulb. It can get messy.

this was one of the first mods I've ever done because it was the easiest...Don't worry the possibility of messing up is very small

I'm thinking he wants a writeup of how to get to the back of the light housing? Right?

There should be sufficient room behind the headlamps to twist out the low beam bulbs. First unplug the harness from the bulb. Then just turn the bulb one way to see if it budges. If not, turn the other way.

Default Low Beam Lights

Turn the low beam casing counter clockwise, to gain access to the light bulb.

If you're in the Sacramento area, PM me. I can show you.

I recently swapped the low- and high-beams with Sylvania Silverstars. Pretty easy, just make sure you handle the new bulb carefully.

You also can mod 9005 highbeam bulb to fit 9006 lowbeam. I had them before switching to HIDs.

Thanks everyone! I was able to change my bulb pretty easily, thanks to your help. I turned the bulb clockwise, facing the back of the headlight. I made sure not to touch the bulb, so hopefully it will last a long time. Cheers!
