Question handling abilities of the sc300? and more questions..

Hey guys, I was refered here from another site to find out some info on the sc300. I've been looking around for a 92-93 bmw 325i/is for a while, and cant find any affordable ones in my area, so Im considering expanding my search some. I was looking at the lexus sc300, and I really like it. Its in my price range, and overall it looks like a great car. Only thing that bothers me is the curb weight of 3500lbs.

How well does the sc300 handle stock? I've read on here that it feels kind of heavy and big, which isnt the feeling im looking for. I'd be upgrading the suspension eventually anyways, with springs/shocks and sway bars, but in the meantime i'd like an HONEST opinion on how the car handles, with high-speed cornering and low-speed as well.

Also, Despite the curb-weight, the 225hp 3.0 seems to give the car decent power, as some of the 0-60 1/4 times ive seen havent been so bad, pretty close to the 325i actually. I'm wondering what this car's acceleration would be comparable to in stock form? Name a few cars you know from experience that you're on par with or can beat. Also, not including turbocharging (yes I know you can swap the soarer/supra engine in), what do bolt-ons do for this engine? Intakes, ECU's, headers and exhausts? What does a basic upgraded sc300 put out at the wheels? crank? what does a basic upgraded sc300 run for a 1/4? top speed? Thanks for the info.

The car handles odd without some help;at the limit it'll snap-oversteer.
However, for a reasonable price(less than $200,for me)it can be fitted with the parts(springs/shocks/rear bar) from a Toyota TT Supra, and be made to handle, well, pretty much like a Factory TT,which isn't bad by any means.Parts all bolt right up,lower the car maybe 1/2",if any.
Good luck with the hunt for a car.

If I ever bought a BMW it would be a brand new one from the factory floor. Then I would sell it before the warranty expired or within 3 years. Older bimmers are loud and rattley and an all around unenjoyable ride. Aside from that, JohnnySC has a point when he says that EVERYONE and their dog has a 3-series BMW. They are one of the most unoriginal cars in this area next to a Mustang.

The SC300 is still a luxury coupe and isn't built with high performance at the top of list. A couple of cheap bolt-ons will fix that though.
