Changing from a body kit back to stock (1999 SC400)
I have been thinking about getting a 1999 SC400 that looks like it's in great condition, except it has this wild body kit that I'm not too enthusiastic about.
The seller says he has all the original parts, and will put it back to stock. The seller seems pretty straight forward (ie not shady, etc).
However, I am concerned that once the guy puts the car back to stock, the stock bumpers and side skirts wont fit like they originally did, or the place doing the work may not put them on well or something.
Are my concerns unfounded? If the stock parts aren't re-installed perfectly, would it be pretty easy for me to go over the stock bumpers and side skirts in my garage and tighten up a bolt or two here and there to ensure they are installed as well as possible? Or are all of the bolts/screws pretty well hidden and it would be difficult to re-touch once the parts are installed?
Thanks for any input.

Huh? If I bought it, the only parts left over would be the aftemarket body kit, but that would be kept by the seller.

Im saying if you end up buy it as is and cant get it back to stock. I was kidding man.
There is, however, no reason a body shop wouldnt be able to get it back to stock for you. It may cost you more than its worth though.

I would think it'd be pretty hard to install an OEM body kit incorrectly. Everything will line up perfectly because it is after all factory made. Even if the guy was retarded enough to put it back misaligned it will be easy for you to straighten it out. The biggest issue would probably be all the bolts and maybe missing one or two but that should not be a big issue as the bumper would not be in danger of falling off with all the other screws in place.

looks closely at the body kit... did anything looking like it was molded on? or does it all look like it was bolted? If nothing was molded or formed from the body kit then it should just be a matter of putting the pieces of a puzzle back together.
And dont worry Khutch! I got the joke!
