Question Window wont go up 100%

Hey guys. I had my passenger window broken awhile back. A friend of mine got the replament glass from a junk yard(said it was definitly out of a sc3). When I get it put in, it doesnt seem to fit...
Thats with the window rolled up all the way. On the highway theres some nasty wind noise and I know i'm screwed when it rains.

Is that chipped white piece of the regulator the cause? I wana be sure before I go buying parts I may not need.

The chipped white piece is part of the regulator. I would double check the spool of wire to make sure there is enough tension to bring the window up all the way.

You would have to take the entire regulator out again. The spool is real close to the motor.

Can you manually pull the window up?

If it drops back down then yes its the regulator as aliga stated. Here are some helpful links if you haven't found them already: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=341373

Ok so I finally got around to ordering a brand new regulator. I get everything back in no problems but when I go to test it there's an even bigger gap between the top of the window and the seal. This is driving me nuts. Any ideas what I should do next?

Did you order the correct year regulator for your car? Maybe double check the installation.

Yep, the part is correct, triple checked the install I did. Even took it to a local car window repair place for a few more sets of eyes to check it out. They saw nothing out of place and were just as baffled as me.

If anyone happens to have there door panel off can you tell me if you can physicaly push the window up from the bottom sill thingy? Even with the brand new regulator in I can still push mine up and it falls back to its set place. Trying to see if this is normal or a problem with my motor. I noticed on my motor that the little square **** isnt exactly locked in place. It moves only about a half a centimeter, just trying to make sure this is normal. Grasping at straws at this point.

I just installed a new regulator this past Saturday in a 92 SC300.. I couldn't move the window when it was placed into the regulator, and the spool/motor was installed. So I think your regulator is the problem.

It's not that expensive at the Dealer....I think full retail is around 125 or so.

If the window moves freely, see if you can pull it up manually. If you have trouble gettting a hold of the window, try raising it gently with some needle nose pliers until you can get your fingers on it. Once you raise the window up try using some tape to hold it in place.
