Bringing this thread back to life because I'm watching inch after inch of snow hit the pavement from my office window. I live 40 miles away from work. I have stock wheels with all season 225/16 BFG's, should I even risk it? I'm pretty slammed with a vertex lip that's only a few inches from the ground.

If you have experience with a rear wheel drive car in snow, the SC isn't much different. Some weight in the trunk will help a lot. But if you run out of ground clearance, you'll be stuck very quickly!

If you have another ride, I'd use it. Personally, I gave up on driving my SC in Iowa winters, bought a Rav4 with 4wd, and put studded tires on all four!

Me as well. I can only drive on select days because I only have summer tires.. Should probably invest in some all season (more like no season) or winter tires lol

I decided to rough it out and drove through the snow and ice. I was honestly surprised how well the Sumitomo HTR A/S P01s worked with the snow. We got ~3 inches down here.

I work in Alexandria and drive 60 miles to Frederick, Md back and forth in this crap. If you're confident in your skills and your car is as equipped for this stuff as it can be.....THAT DOESN'T MATTER. I did it today in the foe-hunnid but you just can't control how stupid every/anyone else is gonna be on the road. Use a less valueable ride if you can, make sure your car insurance is paid up and pray. They're calling for a foot starting Saturday night. This is not a winter precip car....no matter what anyone says! Funny today hitting 80 mph on the speedo on a 25 degree grade and have people walk right past you. But I still love her!!!!!!

She did pretty good tonight. I drove from Gainseville, VA to Alexandria, VA (home) and it only took 10 extra minutes. The SC handled the 3" of snow extremely well and I was very impressed.

i love driving in the snow with my RWD, all my honda friends say to me " dude thats scary.." i personally would rather choose a rwd in the snow over a fwd (id rather slide in a turn than not be able to turn at all)

in the spring i dedicate a whole week to wash/wax my sc, gotta make it up to her for all that salt abuse
