Default just Bought my 95 SC400

I am like a pig in mud, I just picked up my 95 SC400 today black with Black leather, and 5 spoke BBs by Pininfarina 16 inch Lexus rims, no work history, 126K miles, leaks no oil or coolant, so that is a good thing . out the door , tax title and liscence for a hair under $11,000. I sold my 89 Rx7 yesterday so everything just fell in place, I still have my 93 twin turbo Rx7.

This thing is a work of beauty, way tooo sweet, I love it I love it, Gonna get a dealership work record, and that will be last time the dealer will ever see me, I will be doing everything myself.

I have some action items,
1st i wanna get the stereo working perfectly, I need a 12 disc catridge for the premium 12 disc changer, and I also wanna swap out the speakers and put some new speakers, i need that crisp sound, and I don't wanna change the head unit

I also wanna sell those BBD pininfarina 16 inch rimms and get me some Zenettis, so if anyone wants those make me an offer I am all ears

well that's it, I will try to get some pics, gonna be shining all weekeknd

When my rx7 tubo comes from the shop , the only question in the morning will be

THE REX or THE LEX?

Hey that sounds like a nice one. Black with Black interior hugh? Have not seen that combo before. Good luck with your SC!

You may be able to find some 12 disc CD cartridge holder magazines for the SC on eBay. Give it a try. They show up there every once in a while.

Welcome to our club!

I didn't know Lexus made Black/Black SC400 in '95, I would love to have that car... Damn...

Rex or Lex huh? Good luck with your RX7, by the way, what was wrong with the turbo?

Black on black, I'd love one of those. Is it me, or is the 95 SC400 the most common SC around? Seems like you got a really good deal. Congrats and welcome to the club. Got any pics of her?

Congrats. I just got a 95 SC 400 myself, so I am very new to this. It is a 95 with 40K miles. Perfect service record. Out the door for $20K. Curious as to your collective opinion on whether I got a good deal or if I got shafted. I have had the car for a few days now and I love it.

Questions: Being a 95, there a few little scratches around the body. Nothing major. It is dark green. What is the best way to touch those up? Should I just get the whole thing repainted? If anyone has repainted their car, how much did you pay?

I think you paid too much. I paid $25k total for a black/black '98 with 46k miles, all options, near perfect condition (except it had been previously wrecked ($8k), which I didn't know at the time, and the dealer claims they didn't either) and still under factory warranty.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome I am gonna have so much fun with this car, I drove it to work today and coming from a 89 Rx7 turbo loud exhaust to the 95 Lex, what a difference.

Hey Peter

Nothing is really wrong withthe 93 Rx7, I am just getting lowering springs, and brakepads.

By the way is there anyway to keep he fogs on when I turn on the brights

If it helps any, I paid $19,000 for my 95 SC4 with 67K. I Know that may seem like a little too much, but the prices seem to be a little higher in NY, plus it had every option the factory and dealer could put on (heated seats/traction ctrl, pwr moonroof w/ Bene Vento deflector, tint, Nakamichi, chrome wheels and all seasons, Lexus cel phone, rear spoiler, gold pkg, splash guards, wheel locks, and the extra-cost mats) and was in beautiful condition, and I really never see them in Renaissance Red for some reason. Now that i'm considering selling it to pick up an SC3, and after i've spent about $8000 in multimedia install, security, rims, tyres, 2000 update, and maintenance, I wonder what i'll get for it.

Use a 30-amp relay switch. It's a switch that is activated by an incoming signal. It looks like a little black box little bigger than a casino die. It will have 5-6 leads on one face. Two are for power output (to each fog light), one for ground (to negative on battery), one for trigger (t-tap from headlights, or sidelights), one to power input (positive on battery--use a 15-30amp inline fuse here). Connect the power output leads to the red wire in the fog light using a t-tap. Connect the ground to the negative battery lead (the non-capped one). Connect the trigger lead to the green wire in the side light using a t-tap. Connect power input to a 15-30 amp inline fuse that connects to positive battery lead. Insert fuse into inline fuse socket. Switch on parking lights and viola! A ten minute mod. Make sure you make that relay switch WATERPROOF. Wrap it in 6 layers of electrical tape, then cover it with wire loom.
