Default hidden antenna results

I hope this doesn't go straight to the audio forum because I know a lot of members do not go to that sub-forum. I have tried 2 other brands of hidden antennas and neither one had even decent reception. I wanted to remove the antenna from the rear fender and cover it with with striping tape temporarily. I got the [tune trapper] brand antenna which dose not use a 12v. power wire. It has a slightly better reception than my previous 7'' rubber fender mount. There is 3 styles, I choose the 24'' wand lifetime warranty, $40.00 shipped. www.ecshylite.

Not sure if you know, but the Toyota Soarer antenna is factory-built into the rear windshield. Certain Soarer's (mine included) have the factory rear wiper, and I know that some SC drivers covet this feature. One option would be to import a fully specced rear sheild, wiper assembly etc...... or move to Sydney

Over40driv, can you go into some details about your experience with the different antennas and why they didn't seem to fit the bill for you? I was considering the same thing. Thanks in advance.

I tried a $40.00 internet googled antenna that stuck to the inside of the rear glass and used a 12v. power wire. It had very poor reception, so I went back to my 6'' stubby rear quarter panel mount. This one said it would work so I took a chance and am satisfied that its reception is as good as the o.e. antenna. I am def. going for the shaved rear fender look.
