V-8 with blower or I-6 with turbo???
Which combo would give you more power/performance/acceleration?
4.4L 300hps V-8 (GS400 engine) plus Vortech/Swift blower with 5-speed auto (GS/SC? tranny)
or
3.0L 225hps I-6 (SC300 engine) plus Toyomoto/HKS/Txx-x whatever turbo with 5-speed manual (SC300 tranny)?
Would both combos cost similar in price relative to one another (assuming you build up both engines moderately), or will you have to spend more on one option to obtain the same performance gain as the other?

I'd say go for the tried and true I-6 Turbo setup. Aparently they have great tech support and its easy to install.
I haven't seen a lot of blowers for the 400. If Swift has one out, double check price and hp # and compare to the 2JZ turbo setups. See which one is best for you. I'm willing to bet the 2JZ has more options and "Toys" that you can get to go with it. The Swift is probably a one shot deal.
I'd love to see some results for a blower on 400. I want you to go that route, but the 2JZ turbo will most likely be the best bang for the buck.

fastest i ever saw a blown 400 go was swift racing....dynoed 513 rwhp and went 12.0.....BUT it wasnt shifting right due to ECU dificultys.....and has blown the motor 3 times now.....and twice it was a built motor
i have a stock motored sc300 ..with pump gas and 440 rwhp and an open diff i went 11.9 @115....now im at 537 rwhp and going for more...i think the sc300 is ALOT easier...cheaper...reliable...and tried and true to mod...plus you cant beat the fun factor of the stick shift.....the one thing i would highly consider is the 6spd swap out.....then your tranny will hold all the power you can throw at it....if you have more questions please ask...also isnt the GS430 a 4.3 motor not a 4.4

Hard to argue with that. Also, I noticed Mo's GS sounded pretty crappy when he ran, breaking up, like he was bouncing off the rev limiter. I have no idea why he's popping built short blocks @ 500rwhp when the Australians get that much out of a stock 1UZ mill with dished pistons and crazy boost (over 2 bar), I wouldn't think he's having a lean condition with that killer fuel system, maybe he should check his torque wrench, hehe. Jeff, doesn't he also have some problems with head gaskets? I think the heads are 'walking' across the deck surface, even with his high-dollar hardware. I'm tired of talking with Mo and hearing him overuse the expression 'the SRT 800hp GS,' no offense Mohammed. We all know that the 1UZ can be made to produce serious horsepower, but as Jeff painfully reminded me as I was trying to do forced induction for the 4.0, it's just a question of cost per hp, and the 2JZ wins, plus it has almost endless possibilities, and is the strongest factory short block i've ever seen, even stronger than Bean's favourite mill, the RB Skyline motor. Paisley and Ten were running single digits on factory reciprocating assemblies.

hehe I won't argue there
the RB block won't hold as much power as the 2jz stock for stock...
seems pretty even when both are built to hell and back with
$1,000,000,000 budgets
speaking of RB blocks... i'd like to get a nice RB20DET engine into a 240sx... the RB20DET came in the Z31 in Japan as an option...
