Default Another headlight success story

Every one of my threads up until this point have been bad news, but this one is good!

My headlights were really hazed when i got the car, so i sanded them by hand. Came out pretty good, but not good enough for me. So today I decided to assemble a personal headlight polishing kit to see if i could work some magic.

Results are amazing (at least to me)

What did you sand the lights with; and what was in your polishing kit?

I used all 3M products. Here is the list of stuff i put together:

>3" Hookit-II backing plate for a drill
>3" Hookit-II foam backing pad
>3" Polishing pad - orange
>3" Polishing pad - grey
>3" Hookit-II sanding discs in the following grits:
--P500
--P800
--P1000
--P1200
--P1500
>3" Trizact P3000 padded finishing disc
>Headlight Polish Compound
>3M wax
>Spray bottle and water
>Microfiber cloths

I was thinking of putting kits together and offering them to the community but i didn't think it would get much interest

I was gonna say its good seeing someone not use 6000k. I saw like 3 cars with 6000k today, it made me soo happy that i got 4300k. I couldnt stand how blue they were.

It's funny cuz i also kept that little halogen 168 bulb in my headlight, I think it looks cool since all the new benzs have halogen high beam drls(on at night as well) which are that same color along with their 4300k hids.

lol. Yea i kinda dig that little 168 in halogen. Its not as orange as it shows in the pic, its just the standard pale yellowish-white halogen - way lighter than shown in the photo.

Oh, I'm also rockin yellow fogs (polished those lenses too lol)

ya me 2. I dont like the fact the fogs dont really work. All the light goes to the right(or left) of front fender, so you dont really get any effect from the fogs.

But hay it looks cool when other people see the car.

4300k is the best kit to go with for white-ness and brightness. The closest kit you can get that matches to OEM; IMO. Feel free to pm me if your interested in purchasing one., I can direct you to a great supplier.

WOW, they turned out nice...should of posted some before pics to show the potential non-believers what your lights looked like at first. Amazing, looks good-I'm still perfecting the headlight restoration as we speak...lol

looks pretty clean. Mine are so lightly hazed you can barely see it but I would still like to get them cleaned up. My current solution is using a little bit of tire shine

Shaar you should try and get a clear sheet of Laminex for you headlights. With that it should prevent it from hazing up ever again and you wont notice it is even there...
