Radio problems
I am in the process of restoring a SC400 1992 so I will have lots of questions in the future. I am having radio problems. My radio has to warm up for 5 to 10 minutes before it is functional. When I turn it on it has a lot of static, I can barely hear the voices under the static. I have cleaned all the connectors to the amp and antenna. I reflowed all the solder in the amp, all this slightly helped but the unit still takes 5 minutes to warm up.

Are all the connections behind the radio are tight and secure? Maybe some of the wires are chopped up from the previous owner. Also, it can just be that you need to replace the headunit since it is a 92.

Hey Nseagle78 make sure if your going to replace your head unit remember to get the same exact one that you had if your doing stock for stock. They had Pioneer and the Nach. head units. It is kind of a pain to change the wiring around if you got the wrong one ,but get the same so it is plug and play.
