Default Headlight adjustment

Can anyone direct me to where I may find some info on
adjusting the headlights on my SC400?

Thanks,

subscribing. I'm intrigued by the fancy glass "levels" and I think shining onto a wall would be just as good, but I'm curious as to the "proper" procedure with these fancy things.

also there is a black cap at the end... You will need a 10mm.

Dang i broke one of the plastic things. I need to readjust my driver side it falls shorter than the other. Is there a way to do it without taking out the headlight?

Kwheels:

Thanks for the info... and the chiding.

I had done the research and garnered the info you provided,
further more I originally figured out the orientation adjustments
thru experimentation.

My concern is; what is proper height of beam at a given distance
forward of vehicle and left/right from vehicle centerline. When
both headlights are off, from say an accident , then one no longer
has a factory reference frame.
Something more technical like this
http://www.bahamutcars.com/workshop/.../m_be_0039.pdf
may be helpful, but specific to the SC400 due to any differences in
vehicle ride-height.

But, I agree with you, if the info is online then it can be had with sufficient tenacity,
however I had reached my limit and was hoping the forum could assist.

It's unwise to be making statements characterizing my degree of laziness
predicated on your assumptions: I could be much lazier.

No request to do searches on my behalf was included in the post, but was merely
a request for direction to info [if known]. How does that exemplify laziness? what
would be the purpose of this forum if not to exchange information?

If it is your believe the request places a burden on you/other members of the
forum due to what you perceive as laziness on my part, because I am "asking
other people to do things for [me] ", then why do the work and then chide?

sch.

P.S. Either, "because you are too lazy" or "because you're too lazy", but not "because your too lazy"

^^ I enjoyed that . Though I don't think kwheels was being condescending; the more senior members of this forum can be ****** at times (but that's true about every forum).

That said, you probably should've been a bit more specific in your original post.

yeah, that was a good read. Every forum has their search police, but I have been on both sides. It does get annoying to see the same stuff over and over, but on the other hand, sometimes I search A LOT and just can't find the info, either the keywords are too short and ignored, or the results are so old lots of info and pics are deleted, or you just can't find it. It is funny how people take the time to respond and criticise, when they could just provide a helpful hint, such as a keyword, or a specific forum or poster. I guess it's just too hard to pass up and not put in your 2 cents.

Reviving a hella-old thread. It doesn't say that you're suppose to get the glass shield off that protects the encased mercury and the left-to-right adjustment screw is nigh impossible to get to without the entire assembly being removed from the car. Also the glass shield doesn't wanna come off right now. Might be the cold. Will try when it's warmer and brighter.

Does not searching really matter, No. In-fact it helps the website gain more exposure to google and its SEO. The more pages with relevant info the better the ranking this site gets, which in-turn will lead more new users to become member and eventual convert (biz terms for clicking on Adds). The more users we get the longer the we stay an operational website. Less new pages (threads) = lower google ranking which then equals less revenue money.

Remember that next time you get pissed off at someone that doesn't search. who the F cares, really. Exert that anger to something else...like a prius!
