My cousins son lost the main key to my aunts 93 and now she has to use the valet one and I can't recall if that opens the trunk or not. I didn't think so....

She was thinking of doing a remote starter with a girl she works with (they'd get a discount if both had it done) and while I am not a big fan of those personally, she said it would give her keyless entry back for less than the price Lexus would charge for the key. I think the deal was two for $300 on the starter.

I was wondering if there was a way to get a main key cut for cheap so she could have external trunk access and keyless entry. Save a trip to the front door or, god forbid, putting all your stuff on the leather seats.

Bring the title to the dealer and they can cut her a master key w/ no remote for $25. If she wants the "L" emblem, I think its 50.

Also, the remote start/alarm will probably have a trunk release button on the remote. Mine does. I only use my key for ignition switch.

go with the remote start it's practical from summer and winter cools in the summer heats in the winter

Thanks guys. I didn't realize the remote starters would let you open the trunk. That is pretty cool then. I don't know a whole lot about them but that is a major plus!
