One of these newspaper ads has E-Z Lube offering a headlight-like-new service, with before (dingy yellow) + after (bright + clear) pictures.
Has anyone used this?
My personal efforts and elbow grease has NOT produced any difference on my headlights!!!
Thanks.

I've posted this before but I'll post it again.. Meguiar's PlastX. It takes 15 minutes to apply. This is with nothing more than rinsing off the heads and applying the PlastX... no sanding, no washing, just PlastX. It lasts about 2 months or so from my experience. When I got my car detailed, he ran over them with some polish, PlastX, and wax and they stayed clean for about 4 months before they started to haze again. The stuff only costs like 10 bucks.

Standard Auto Wreckers offers this service as well. Interesting, but I'd rather do it myself. I bought a used right headlight after attempting multiple unsuccessful re-sealing jobs. I needed to polish it up to make it look as good as the other one so I went with the 1000, 1500, 2000 wet sanding method then used rubbing compound with a polishing wheel before moving on to a few waxes. It came out great. You're gonna want to take the headlights out or carefully mask the surrounding area before getting started.

^ Thats the best way to do it. I would recommend removing the light and have a buddy hold the light while buffing with a wheel. If you decide to leave it on the car make sure you use painters masking tape to tape off the entire light surround. You don't want to burn the paint. Make sure both people are wearing unwanted cloths. The polishing wheel will make a small mess with excess sling. We really need a company to make a set of glass covers.
