Finally got an exhaust
God I love tax returns; don't you guys?
I finally found something to do with the 3" dynomax ultraflow knockoff muffler sitting in my room
I've got a 3" single catback on my SC300 now. I know I ramble on about how good the 2jz sounds; but oh my god it sounds fricken awsome
Its a press bent setup since it was custom; but I know the guy who does it; and he does excellent work; minimal bends and he got it to work with my stock 2.5" cat
The stock SC300 exhaust system absolutely kills flow. piping is 2" when it splits after the cat... there are two small resonators and two mufflers; prolly reverse flow to kill the sound even more
When converting to the single I now have no restrictions from the catback at all. Its a full 3" setup and I can feel the power, response, etc... I'm really glad I did this.
The muffler also points slightly upward and outwards.... looks awsome; i'll try and get pics of it soon
The only thing I don't like is my choice of tip size... I used a 3.5" tip; and it looks a bit small on the muffler... I'm going to try a 4" when I get a chance.
and the good news is: i'm thinking of getting this exhaust copied to where I can sell it to Lexus members. I don't have a mandrel bend machine; but I know of one in florida; and Its also possible for me to order mandrel bends from various catalogs; so I can create this exhaust by welding it all together, with hanger mounts and everything.
If anyone might be interested let me know. This would be a 3" single coming out the driver side; and would cost around $250-300 with the price of the muffler; less if you want to use your own

So a single exhaust pipe and tip instead of dual?? I'd be interested if you could get the dual pipe setup going, just to make everything symmetrical. Pics and sound clips would help sell it.

my greddy was worth the cash i paid for it...i love it....on a side note...the body kit i bought <WALD> came with a full rear bumper and it has cut outs for dual exahust but also included a piece to mold into one of the exahust cut outs in case you want a single exahust..pretty sweet design Jeff

Jeff can you make a picture of that? that sounds awsome
A dual setup would be easy too; it'd just cost more money obviously for the piping and extra muffler... I'll try and get some sound and vid clips of it...
Especially after I race the IS300 this weekend.
