Ok everyone, here are some pics, sorry about them being from my phone.

First we have the lense seperated...it shows the glue and the black paint i had covering the turn signal.

Second the reflector that im going to paint black.

This is the inner housing, displaying more glue....

Heat gun, along with a razor blade, along with a DA31 key blank, and this stuff made by Wurth, really gets the glue off...it literally dissolves it.

First hard sanding, as you can see all paint is removed, at this point im worrying whether or not i can get the lens smooth again, lol.

Second sanding, finer grit sand paper.

1200 grit wetsand with light buff

Thats it for now, had to leave work, it was 6pm lol.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't but if you put a few good coats on the outside i don't think the inside would really need it.

Be careful with that Nissan Key (DA31) Those keys are prone to cracking! Good luck with your project and post some pix with the end result

I know, its because they are so skimpy, but it works, and as long as the butyl is heated up and soft you dont put any stress on the key.

Thanks buddy, i cant wait to see what the headlights look like with there insides blacked out and the plastic covers removed from the inside.

I'm also gonna convert to HID's, something bluish white, and remove the plastic light diverter things inside of the projector tube. All that is doing is lowering light emission and glare.
