Default 97 SC300 - Help Identifying A Part

I'm absolutely new to doing repairs to cars, new to the forum (glad to be here)...just completely new. So maybe someone can fill me in.

For the ignition, would I have to replace the whole thing or is there a way to buy just the part? If so what is that part called specifically?

Thanks in advance

are you talking the illuminated ring around the ignition??? You might want to check with Aliga in the classifieds and see if you can get one off his cars.

^ yeah it's the illuminated ring & the actual metal plate (I think). It's a hard piece to describe I guess.

I have some part numbers for you is you can't get them used. This might help you at your local Lexus dealer.
Light ring 81870-24020
color coded trim ring 55445-24020-A2 (Ivory) (92-12/93)
New lock cylinder 69057-24060 will have to be rekeyed by a lock smith to match your current keys. I hope this helps.

^ it's all helpful as it gives me a starting point & actual part names to give people.

Do you think I'll just need the ring?

Do you still have the light ring? Clear plastic with a wire pig tail on it.

No, I don't have the actual ring. When I bought it, it was just like what you see in the pic.

It looks like you need the light ring and the trim ring. Is your dash coming off right there?

I don't think anything's coming apart or detached. But now that I know what I'm looking at & looking for, I'll see if my friend can check it out & properly diagnosis how to fix it.

It still illuminates. It seems to just be missing that piece that covers it.

Okay

I ended up w/the trim ring from Aliga.

I took it to a body shop I've used & the guy says I'm still missing one piece to it, which apparently should be labeled "on" etc, noting the key position.

Any ideas on what this part is called?
