Correct me if I'm gnorw (wrong) Quick Help Desired
If I'm not mistaken, doesn't an OEM 97+ bumper fit on a previous year's model sc300? I have a 95 and the shop I've taken it to says that does not match up in many ways, bolt patterns and headlight match ups. I guess I was wrong, but I thought it lined up. IS there anything else I need t change or replace or is he just and old fart who is confused because he can see a grille slot and different fog inserts? If he's right then I have a brand new 97 Bumper for sale that is unpainted. And if he is wrong then I will tell him to paint the S.O.B anyways and I will put it on if need be

That's what I thought. One thing else to add though, would purchasing it from a mate in Canada...they wouldn't change it up would they? He was saying something be square versus my car having something wrong (i know he didnt mean the headlights...matter fact I hope he didn't mean the headlights!)

Ahh thank you more confirmation! This shop in baltimore called Paschals Auto...and he does great work b/c my bro's S2000 was repaired there (hit in the rear). IF i gave him a 250 deposit, should I ask him to just paint the ****, fix my ding in the fender and I'll put the sucker on myself? (when we have another warm day in Baltimore)

It's almost like he doesn't believe me when i say it fits. I wish I had someone else to back me up...call him up and explain that I'm not just wishfully thinking.

I just called (i can tell he's getting annoyed with me) and explained I have sources that have experience and have told me that it is a direct bolt on and that the energy absorber needs to be shaved or replaced. Then he was like "no you don't understand, the headlights will not fit in the bumper. The high beam (or circle as he referred) will, but the headlights will not he says mine are "pointy" and the bumper is "squared" and it will not allow it to fit. So I said that I look online and find lights from 92 thru 00 not 92 to 94 95 & 95 and 97 to 00. He says he will try to find two other lights to get to work and call me back. Now I'm getting annoyed. Maybe I should just get him to straighten out the fender and take care of the bumper myself...well I guess I need him tp paint it. Hmmm

yeah he sounds like an idiot..if he's calling them pointy lights and circle lights i would for sure stay clear..its literally an easy process..remove bumper, remove absorber, put on new absorber, new bumper and then hook up your lights

Sounds like your shop is abit confused with the fitment. If continually says that it would not work.............I suggest you find another shop who knows what they're doing. Or maybe you can print the 97+ bumper conversion thread and have him readit all. LOL

So frustrating,
so i told him to fix the fender, and I'll come get the bumper tomorrow. Guess I'll be dressed warm because as soon as I put that guy on I'm driving right back up there to show him how it's done. ugh
