Default Newbie in need of advice (SC300/IS300)

Hi guys, I've mostly been a lurker around here but after some searching, I realized I needed some member input.

I've narrowed down my next car to a preferably manual SC300 or IS300. I am most likely going to boost either one but I am unable to decide on which to get.
While the SC300 being a coupe has its unique styling but the IS300 looks pretty hot and isn't as heavy.

My goals are basically to have a pretty damn fast DD which I think both are capable of.

Any members with some input here? Why did you guys choose a SC300 over whatever car you guys wanted?

Thanks in advanced.

Just for the sheer fact that the lines on the SC are timeless and that there are not too many well put together SC's overall on the road these days made me get mine. Don't get me wrong I think the IS is a great car as well. But the SC man.....haha....gotta stick with the 2 door coupe.

a 5spd sc is cheaper than a 5spd is3. Plus if you're gunna go for boosting a 5spd IS3 you're going to end up changing the w55 to a w58 (which the sc3 already has), r154 or v160. Although i do enjoy the interior of the IS3 a lot more than the sc3, i ended up choosing the sc300 because my girlfriend said is3's are for women

I like the sc a lot more. Their are only 2 timeless cars i have ever seen, the sc and the bmw/alpina z8. Not to mention the sc has a ton of luxury features. Rear seats that auto-move, fully digital climate control, steering wheel the extends when the key is put in. Not to mention with 97+ tails and hids the car looks like its from 2005 or something.

You cant post this question in an SC forum
When I was looking for a new car I thought I wanted an IS until I saw my DWP SC. It was love at first sight.

In the words of a Wise Wise African American Lyricist, "I Aint need da 4 door, so i Went and Got Da coupe"

His timeless poetic rhythm speaks volumes in this instance

get them both! Nah just kidding. Go with the coupe. Turns some heads because there not as common as IS's (well, it depends on where you live) and the SC is pretty much already set up for boost.

the is300 is a great car, if i could go back and do it all again, i'd probably go for the is, not to say my sc is everything i always wanted, but with an is your not going to have to deal with the maintenance of a possibly 16 year old car with hundreds of thousands of miles. Yes they are toyotas, and have excellent reliability, but every car of that age and mileage is going to need a wealth of maintenance to get it up to the shape that an is will be in. I'd say go for the is, they look hot stock, they have the capability to be damn fast, and they are rarer in boosted form, so you'd be more original i guess...,, but either way (is or sc) you can't lose.

i would go with an IS300. this is why:

1. lighter weight
2. 4 doors
3. actual functional trunk that fits more then a shoe box

the cons:
cant fit deep-lip wheels...offset=fail
small selection of good looking aero kits

here is a nice is300 though. my buddy AJ's

I guess I'll get a IS300 then, seems more practical at the moment with me starting college soon unless I find a crazy deal on a SC that I can't pass up. However one day, I will get an SC to boost and own both. Thanks to everyone for the help and advice.

I'm kind of shocked that more SC people would pick an IS300 over their car. I just don't get it
