Default Removing the rubber/seal between roofline and windshield...

I have found that the rubber or plastic piece between the windshield and the roofline have warped I guess because of the sun and it kind of lifted off and distorted looking. It doesn't look too great but on top of that, the wind hits where it sticks up a little at 60+ and it makes a lot of wind noise. I have already ordered a new piece from toyota and was wondering if anyone has replaced this and what its held in by and how to remove/install it. Thanks!

Im afraid that it might, just wondering if it was something I could do. I have a feeling that its going to have to go to the body shop though.

I am almost positive you have to pull the windshield, esp since no one chimed in to correct me. You can just go to your local Express Glass, i couldnt imagine they would charge to much to change it.

Yea the windshield does have to come out, mine is in very bad shape too and I called to check on that. They quoted me for 180 to pull and replace it with the new piece, so if you have the piece expect to spend about 150 to have it pulled and replaced. I would suggest not taking it to a body shop as they will probably charge more than a glass company, most glass companies come out to your house and do it pretty quick.

You might want to check around cause i have a friend who owns a glass company and he replaces windshields for about 180 to 250 installed on most cars.......so to replace some moldings should be a lot cheaper....... their is a company calle safelite....I think they have companys all across the east coast
