I actually hate those rims, they belong on an old school caddy or something. They dont match the sc's style at all. I would go with a newer looking rim. I personally love 5 spoke rims but thats just me.

As for mods I personally do the simple things first. Lexus is250/350 wiper blades, es300 washer nozzles, 4300k hids (best mod EVER), yellow fog light bulbs, white led lights for the tail lights, key ring, doors and above the pedel.

After that i would do some harder mods, like a lexus rx300 steering wheel(junkyard for the wheel and pembroke pines lexus trademotion site for the airbag), that hypercoil suspension set-up. NEW RIMS FOR SURE. if your cheep just get some is250/350 rims. After that swap the engine/tranny/differental.

Your kinda lucky since you have a 95 so your tail lights arent hideous, but 97 tails do look a lot nicer especially on a white sc since the chrome trim inside the tails match the car. I have a 5spd so i got myself a trd shift **** and am saving money until i can afford a 2jz-gte, then i will swap that and sometime in the future get myself a v160.

hey thanks for your advice man.

i dont know if i would go as far as to say they are hideous but really don't like them. haha im going to get some new ones. (love the 5 spoke design as well actually) i think i may do some of those mods you listed. the wiper blades maybe, but forsure the HID's yellow fogs and maybe the white led tails.

tell me about the 2jz-gte. i test drove like 10 of those cars out here and everyone i drove there was something that wouldnt work. like no a/c. or this or that. i am very fluent in motors and trans. but not with this car. ive had a supra and loved it but it seems like, for this car anyway, the 1jz is the way to go because of the direct fitment. is this correct? obviously the 2jz-gte is way sicker in many ways... just cheaper and more cost effective to get the soarer 1j.. opinions? comments?

its making it harder and harder to decide what to do with the wheels haha i think if im going to go for a clean stock look ill keep them and when i want to upgrade with a front lip side skirts and a rear lip ill get new wheels and such.

A simple drop and a nice set of wheels improves the look of SC's 10-fold. With those your one of the nicest cars on the road in my opinion. So I'd start with that..

..but I cant wait to see your Brembo's, DEFIANTLY keep us posted on that!

opinions are like *******s...everyone has them and the owner never thinks theirs stink...

Nice score on the car. The 2JZGTE is a direct drop since it is the same base engine, it is the wiring that needs to be done but with so many vendors that is not an issue either.

hahaha too true about the opinions...

i have some money im ready to invest in the car to go 1jz or 2jz but whatever i do i have to go manual. (just so much more fun to drive) can any of you that have done this let me know what im going to need to get to make this a reality? and how much its going to cost. just a straight up swap with a 2jzgte and 1jzgte and manual conversion.

If you wanna work on a budget a 1jz-gte is a lot cheeper to swap. Especially since the 1jz on the soarer comes with the r154 tranny. Its something like 2-4g for the full front clip. The 2jz-gte is like what atleast 3g for the engine alone. With that being said the 2jz has more midrange power, no replacement for displacement. But if your looking for modest power goals, 400,500hp, the 1jz can easily accomplish that. Basically the 2jz can handle more power, parts are easier to find but the con is 2jz-gte is more expensive.

I second scENFORCER, i put is300 rims on my sc300(since i had them laying around) And just putting some modern rims on the car (and 97 tails) makes the car look like a good 05 model year and super nice. The rims on your car are very retro styles, they completely clash with the style of the sc.
