the soarer has a canada plate on it, are you sure it is legal to REGISTER in Washington? Somehow i really really doubt it, it might be legal for him to drive in Washington with the car being registered in CANADA because he lives there, but that does not mean you can register is in US, Canada and US have different import laws check with your local DMV before anything. It's not as easy as driving it to US from Canada and going to the DMV to register it, it wont work that way. Have him drive it over the border and have him register it for you before you pay a dime, i can just about guarantee that it wont register.
As far as I'm concern, a buddy of mine tried to import a soarer engine from Canada, and the engine sat on the Seattle docks for a month before going in to general storage because the engine is "not allowed" in to USA for parts. I have a hard time believing the engine is not allowed but the car is.

I totally agree with you... people want things they cant have, which is why everyone is voting for soarer, ive driven a few and it's NOT the same.. luxury stuff is so different, not to mention 80% of all the jdm cars are beat to crap... that 50+k miles means nothing, all it means is the car has been driven in stop and go traffic for all it's life before being imported, you need just about a engine overhaul, start from the gaskets, seals and move your way to turbos and everything else, you'll know what i mean after a few month of owning one. Mileage wise, you're better off getting a 150k miles car from US that has mostly highway miles.

You are right thought, I don't think soarers are allowed in WA

In that case GET A LEXUS, soarers are a PAIN.. plus all the parts that are needed to do any maintenance needs to be imported from the states, or USA from a tuner shop which will cost you, a friend bought a skyline and needed to change the caliper, his car was at the stop for more than a month because they had to go to japan to get parts, it's just not as easy as going to a shop expect things to be fixed. Get a SC300 because there are soo many soarers in Canada, but no SC300 because Canada don't produce any SC300. Be different, I would honestly get a lexus.
