Default Renting a new 1995 SC300

Who rented these cars out? Specifically in California? I just got a Carfax on a car I'm looking at in Texas and it shows the first owner and at least the first 23K miles as being in a rental fleet in CA. With the way most people treat rental cars, I'm thinking that that alone DQ's this car for me. Anyone have any knowledge of this?

Lol I was kinda thinking that too. It has 115K on it now, and from the look of the Carfax the ownership changed at 24K. New Texas title was issued anyway. It's been through two auctions as well.

If its been through two auctions, you don't know what kind of elements its been sitting out in. I would stay away from that one. What part of CO you from BTW?

Highlands Ranch, grew up in Littleton.

It's been in Texas since December of '95, so I imagine the "elements" consisted mostly of rain. Better a TX or CA car than Midwest or East Coast, by a long shot. Still, who knows how auction monkeys drive **** around?

Most dealers don't beat the cars in the test drive, they only test it for functionality. PUBLIC auctions consumers drive them harder. Not buying a car because it was test driven is idiotic.

You're nitpicking a 14 year old car. Hell go buy a new car. Otherwise buy it and drive the wheels off of it.

I never heard of a rental company using a car for 23K miles and not replacing it before then

If it was in a major accident then stay away other than that Im with OLT just buy a new car cause your never going to find a 14 yr old car without issues. Mine was purchased from an auction as a theif recovery and it has been the best car ive owned. That includes the Super Sport S10 that I purchased brand new....what a piece that was.
