Use KBB and Edmunds to get a feel for what it is worth. You may go higher or lower depending on how bad you want it. It's worth what you, or someone else, is willing to pay for it.

Why buy a 00 SC4 if you can get better/modern looking cars for the same amount. 8k IS a reasonable offer
There is no better looking car for the money in my mind, and $8,000 is not reasonable unless its in rough shape. It's a 2000, not a 1997. Das Bach was right on.

Default Decided Not to Re-Buy It

Thanks to everyone for the thoughts: Slept on it, and decided that it's just better not to buy it back from a friend. Driving it back to his house today, I was reminded of all the little things that have gone sour while his wife has had it; shocks are gone; loud driver's window motor; tilt/tele motor needs replacing; and the whole car feels loose. I sold him a concours car. His wife turned it into a "driver".

All that could be fixed, but buying it back from a buddy means that either you're overpaying ('cause you don't want him to feel bad) or you're underpaying, and either way, I think it strains the friendship, so long story just a little longer, I'll let him dispose of it some other way.

Good choice my friend. I never sell cars to close friends, or especially family unless I absolutely know for sure I will never ever want it back again.

I bought my SC from my uncle? But he bought it from a friend who had gotten the SC after his father had passed away.
