Thanks for the suggestion projekt, I can drive just fine though. I cant shift from REVERSE to PARK just find, can shift from REVERSE to DRIVE with no problem. When I try to shift from DRIVE to REVERSE/PARK, it wont let me go past neutral.

I'm figuring it's because my shifter is not getting the proper voltage signal that my speed sensor is supposed to send (to let it know the car is not moving)... that's why I need to find a proper place to TAP into the speed sensor... anyone have any new suggestions to locate the vss wire?

I chose the pink wire because I read on LesJet's writeup to look for a PINK wire... i tapped into the pink one but it still locks in neutral... his car was a 92, mine is a 93...

This is the link you were referring to right Peter?... Doesn't list anything about the VSS...

The picture of the bracket is on the 1st page of this thread...

O. L. T. -would you happen to know which wire is the VSS wire on our gauge clusters?

Post Ok I went over my connections...

So I found an ECU schematic and Pin layout over on the lextreme website... It was the pink wire for my car (the larger one- 2nd pin on the right most harness of the SC400 ECU)... I tapped into it and I still can't shift from Drive to park without it locking into neutral(I still have to press the shift override button for this)...

Now I need logical input from people as to why this may be... I would greatly appreciate the input... It still seems like a signal issue... but it's not because of the VSS or 12V source...

From what I'm thinking.. it is a signal issue as well. As I was installing my gated shifter, I had the same problem of not being able to shift into R from N. The VSS is supposed to trigger the 12V source on to lock it from shifting into R from N when you are moving or going 5mph or whatever. And when the vehicle isn't moving the 12V is switched off, not locking the shifter, allowing you to shift from N to R. It is to prevent damage to the transmission from driving fast and accidentally shifting into R.

I never actually corrected this problem when installing my shifter. It could have been that I was tapping off the wrong wires for the VSS but I never solved it. I know better than to just throw it into reverse while driving 25+ mph haha. So I just left the VSS and 12V wires untouched.
