..I only want mild power adders since my s13 will be for my wilder ambitions. Can anybody tell me if there are any other simple 1uz mods besides the BFI, headers and exhaust, like a easy cam swap maybe? What are the preferable/popular header & exhaust setups? And what kind of hp/tq increases should one expect realistically?

Fo sho. But my GF's car blew a headgasket and then was totaled while parked by a drunk driver fleeing police. So she's driving the s14 I intend to sell for my SC money. So until she gets another car, I'll just have to gaze longingly at you guy's cars...
Those numbers make me happy in the pants. You're not being sarcastic are you?
Edit: Ok, so you're not being sarcastic! Awesome! I did some more searching and found this on another forum. Maybe this will be useful to other newbs just like me!

To make a long story short, here's a recommended upgrade path for a mild 1uz build, after your maintanance is on point...
In order of importance:
1) Torque Converter
2) Highflowing cats, Exhaust pipes, and mufflers..
3) Headers
4) Piggy Back ECU
5) BFI intake...
6) Supra 93-98 limited slip differential...off an automatic tranny TT....
7) Kelford Cams
I know Mitch, who helped me tuned my SC had also tuned his SC4 with an AEM EMS. He dynoed his SC at somewhere around 240 rwhp with just a cold air intake, custom exhaust (no headers), and the AEM EMS. That's about 60 rwhp over stock. Throw in a set of cams and headers and I believe you can gain nearly 100 rwhp. But for that $$, I'd go with a low boost supercharger system. ![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Compare apples to apples... oranges to oranges... and then we can get things accomplished.
Bad comparison... SC 1jz MT vs SC400 Stock...
Good comparison... SC 1jz MT vs SC400 MT
Best comparison... SC 1jz MT vs SC400 MT Boosted.
