Default installing side skirts, help!

Hey guys I just purchased a kit and in the process of installing the side skirts, now from what I've measured and tried the skirt looks about 1 inch short if u try to wrap it around the stock plastic skirt at the bottom, plus it makes it stick out wierd. Now from what I've seen on most kits the skirt sits very flushed with the wheel well and doesn't stick out at a arkward angle, plus it would be impossible to fit, being an inch short. So does the rear stock skirt come off before install?? If so how is it removed? Thanks guys I've searched but can't find the answer, and input would be great!! It is a 96 sc..

rear stock skirts come off before any side skirt install. I've seen this many times and people just tack them on like a hack job. very UGLY imho.

easily removed by 3 bolts on the back.

Yeah dude, you gotta take those stock pieces off first. God, why would anybody tack sides over the stock stuff? That has to look horrible!
