Next Car?
I liked the question of the last car everyone had before switching to the great lexus SC. But lets say you needed to get out of the SC and get something else. What would you get??
For me, i would get a 97 jaguar XK8 convertible. I am in love with that car.

I would have to say a newer SC, I have had many sports cars from 4 Mustangs to an RX-7 turbo II to other V8 American cars and the SC seems to be the best all-around performer I have drove. I love this car!

That's easy.
I'll be getting an SC400 for the wife (although I'm a little disappointed in the dyno numbers I saw given the enormous driveline losses).
After that I'll get her a GS400 and I'll take the SC as my daily driver... (and drive the JZA80 on the weekends).
In the meantime I'll just stick to daily driving the 85 Supra beater.
What could be better than a Lexus as your daily driver and a world-class sports car for weekends and road trips?

hmmm, that's tough considering it'll be at least 6-7 years.
Well, either I'll wait for the next gen SC4X0 (probably in 8 years) or an AWD lexus... unless I decide to buy a '90 Celica Alltrac or (try to) import a '95 Celica All-trac from europe for now. I need something for the snow!

How true. Depends on the budget.
To replace the lexus I will probably go for a used CL55 or SL500.
I drove my friend's CL55. It is so nice. If the NASDAQ goes back up to 5000, may get a F355 just to put in the garage.

For me it'd be either second-hand...
98+ SC400
GS400/430
pre-2003 CLK
E46 M3
C5 Vette
GTO
I'd also like to experience the MKIV Supra TT, or an RX-7 TT, which it seems I'm the only one here that hasn't owned one yet.
I've thought many times on getting a Yamaha R1, the ultimate speed machine, but figured I'd rather live to 20.
If budget wasn't a concern, I'd buy myself an original 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 Competition *drool* for a half a million dollars (or whatever the going price is these days). Nothing greater than a 427 Cobra
*Ooo, add in an S2000, I hear those are fun, fun, fun.

The Mercedes 430 cabrio. I would never buy another one of these overpriced Toyotas. This so-called quality car has been nothing than an endless money pit. If I am going to spend big bucks again, I want a car I have had good luck with in the past. That's not to say I will get a bad MBZ, but the SC I have had for the last three years has been a very costly choice. It started with the leaking power steering pump, which fried the alternator, and has been giving me grief ever since. The Dealer was also at fault for selling this car with the wrong size tires, but I caught that a yeat latter. The funny thing is, a lot of other SC owners have the same kinds of problems, but still love this car. Oh well, not much longer for me. Lexus is not my choice for Quality means. Sorry all you loyal fans, but it is what it is.
PS, I have been driving since 1972, and had a "few" cars in that time, so it is not like this was the first nice car I have owned.

My next car would be (with money-no-object) in that order, and taking style and design into consideration:
1998 BMW 740iL (stylish)
2001 Acura NSX-T (Comptech supercharger)
1995 Nissan 300ZX 2+2 (better chassis than the TT)
1996 Mazda RX-7 R1 (pure sports car)
1996 Ferrari F355 (not the Spyder)
1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX (I like the style)
2001 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-spec (one word, outrageous)
I would prefer all these cars to be black (just like my SC300).
It's true that with cost-no-object, I can get other more expensive cars (i.e. Porsches, Lamborghinis, other Ferraris), but ... why?

Next car I would get if i HAD to give up my SC300 would be a used Acura NSX. If I had the money, then I'd get the Saleen S-7 But the car that I always wanted since I was a kid was my SC300. I don't think I would ever be able to sell my SC.
