Clever that is great... please tell how the sides were done? Is it fiberglassed behind the mdf? What is your setup?

It's OK. Base is coming through middle of the rear deck.

i just got my JL 12" hooked up, and now i'm dealing with the rattling issues coming from the trunk. i need to replace the shocks back there so the trunk lid actually stays up when open, but do you guys have any suggestions as to how to reduce the rattling back there? i already used some heavy duty double sided tape for the license plate

The best advice to give you is just go ahead and sound dampin the whole trunk and be done with it. No sense in trying to do a patch work here and there.. There are a lot of cheaper options with the same quailty as dynamat out there..

haha the louder i turn it up the more things start rattling, like my stock exhaust tips for example what are other similar products to dynamat, and are there any how to's to set that up in the trunk? i'm assuming i'd have to get that only on the trunk lid right

Yes, imo you would have to cover the trunk as much as possible. Not much "how to" needed, its a peel and stick application. Take everything out and peel then stick.. try to cover as much as you can making sure you dn't cover up your screw holes, etc.
