So far i have spent like nothing.
100ish for general maintenance (coolant, oil, break fluid, spark plugs)
100ish for HIDs
20 bucks for cornering light to fog lamp conversion.
1000-1500ish for a sound system (but it came out of my old car, i just rewired it for the sc)
50 bucks for white interior led conversion.
37 bucks for trd shift ****
280 for 98 tails
and like 400ish for a new clutch (i'll just sell the clutch when i got r154)

Thats cuz you kept your v8. Everyone knows JDM is all about that straight 6 turbo charged engine.

Plus i dont plan on going with a body kit, i already know how that story ends. I left my car on balboa parallel parked. Came back and bam, rear bumper had its paint cracked. You cant tell from like 3 feet away so i dont plan on repainting it.

true on the manual tranny...I did not swap the turbos just the injectors, MAF and resistor box. The only difference now is the Cams and Turbos but I will be upgrading those. The only reason I did the other items is I wanted the USDM TT harness and swap the ECU. I plan to go to AEM later...this was all to be ready for later.

I have an EXTENSIVE spreadsheet that I track all the purchases on my autos. I did it on my 300ZXTT and now on this car. It is nice because I see what I am buying...what I saved based off market valvue and the deal I found and keeps a good diary.

I am just opposite, I dont want to know, its really depressing. Despite all the deals I've got the number is huge! I have not seen a number in this thread that is even near my loss, I mean investment.

LOL I know what you mean. With my last one I swapped out the engine so much I did not want to know. However it is part of my nature to know all the details...Just hurts when I see the details equal ultimate loss

They did you good, you were $17 above cost, I still recommend getting buddy buddy with one of the parts guys who would be willing to cut to employee cost on larger items. It wouldnt help with a $37 part but it would with a $700 part.

I've spent about 1200 in parts and 8500 for the car so I think I'm doing pretty good and I only have one other thing I for sure want to get done to the car which will get done hopefully this weekend and probably one or two more other mods. I don't plan on doing anything with the motor so I hope from now on I'm just paying to maintain my ride. If I had an unlimited budget I would probably spend however much ScottURnot has put in his amazing ride.

If i kept mine long enough im sure i could easily dump 50k+ into it. Like others have said, if you buy good parts it ad's up really quick, not to mention you have to pay labor as well.

got a great deal on my 96 5 speed sc300.
So far I just did plugs, rotor/cap, valve cover gaskets, oil change, new shift ****, e brake boot, steering wheel cover, cut my cam gear cover, did touch up paint on entire car where needed, new chrome emblems front and back, steam cleaned carpets, conditioned leather, BFI intake mod. Did all the labor myself

I'm at $300 right now and have had the car a couple weeks. BUT difference between me and you guys I hope is that Im just about done, this is my DD and Ive already gone nuts and modded 5 other cars before this with my life savings, so its out of my blood. One still sits in the garage

Also a bonus is the transporting company ripped my front bumper off so Im getting a new 97 front end kit free on them 1300 check in the mail! I can replace the 20s already on my car with some nicer style. Ok im done trying to convince myself that im not going to spend money on the car, I am but its going to be very little, ill do the bang for the buck mods and enjoy the heck of the car for very little money invested

good to hear that you havent spent so much money on your car yet! Is it really worth it to spend $15,000 on a car?

I thought about getting crazy with my '99 GS400. But then when I did the math.... GS400 + $15000.... I decided that rather than dump that kind of money into my 10 year old car, I would rather sell it and get something less worn out.

I ended up with a white s2000 and a white RX400h. In other words, you could end up with your SC400 + another car instead. $15,000 is a lot of money! Just food for thought!
