Default Darn Car Wash

I don't know what happened...but all I know is that my audio sys is screwed up because of the damn car wash I had an hour ago.
It was one of those "automatic, no touch, high pressure, spray carwash"...

Well...while waiting for the car-wash to finish, I was just listening to theLimpBizkit CD, and all of the sudden all 7 speakers went dead. W T F? I know this car (SC4, 94) is getting old but this is a freaken lexus! Can't believe a sigle car-wash can destroy the audio. The CD player was still running...but no sound. So I tried AM/FM radio...but still no sound...

I drove around with all the audio turned off...but from time to time, I heard this loud "buzzzzzzz" coming from the speakers. What do you think is wrong?
Any idea?

I don't want to be spending another hundred bucks because of this darn carwash, when I just spent 800 dollars just to have the timing belt replaced...

Need some help here....

Have you checked to see if there is a leak in your trunk? Check the cd player and the amp that is underneath for moisture...

You can replace every speaker , head unit , and amps for cheaper than that.

Are you a DIY?

If so do a search. There are some great threads on how to tear apart your car and install the speakers. I recently did my car.

I replaced every speaker with MB Quart Reference Series , JL 10w3 Sub , 2 sony amps (I already had the amps) , 1 cap for about $700 from ebay

Custom shops wanted about a $1,000 to put it in. I just took my time and did it in about 3 days. I paid $200 for a custom box and for my ground (4 gauge), power (4 gauge), remote wires to be run for me .

But if I was you I would get the leak fixed 1st.

Maybe someone on the forum has one they can sell you.

To save your future amps, look in that panel. There is a plastic tube that comes from the top of the panel and plugs into a hole at the bottom, near the wheel well. If that tube is loose at the bottom, you'll get water in that compartment. Make sure it's plugged in at the bottom so that water (not sure where that tube comes from) can drain out and not make a reservoir for your amp.

Ah...thanks. Just sent a message to the seller.

Hey, is there some kind of a model number for the Nakamichi amp in SC400? Any name for the amp?
