thanks for all the compliments. its really nice when people appreciate your hard work.

btw if anyone is interested i can give you tips on how to do it. one thing im gonna say though is that 99% of the DIY's on the internet are pretty accurate. however a lot of people have a hard time of making it come out with a mirror like coat without using clear coat. also it is very hard to work with cf. you need to prep it carefully if not you wont see that something is wrong until you're all done and with cf once you're done theres no redoing it...

The piece alone looks great, but I agree, I don't think it should be CFed

No bashing - but hopefully constructive criticism =)

It looks as though your edging on the CF looks a bit jagged ... what did you use to cut it? because it seriously looks a bit hacked and rough

also your second last picture looks like there are a couple of folds in the CF... perhaps pressing them out next time?

Personally the CF on the gas tank door is kind of a bit tacky, maybe do it for the trim on the interior! =) post up some pics of it!

Actually this looks very, very nice...I think it will match with the beige/black combo I'm leaning towards on my SC.

The point of CF is to save weight.
You don't use it as a covering, but a light weight substitute.

I don't get it.

You either have CF or you don't.
Are we installing an Inter Fooler next?

ppl should stop baggin on his hobby... thats what he like then let him do... its true purpose of cf is to make things lighter, but its just a gas cap... what u add .080347 ounces instead of losing .019045 onces... that dont make much difference... im kinda interested on wat materials u used to make it... im planning on doing that to my wood trim just not sure how to do it and what i need

Quick Reply: just finished my cf gas tank cover. :) pics!!!
